The A - Z of An Eclectic Music Collection: X......

..... is for XXXXX

Okay, stay with me here. This one was always going to be hard, if not impossible, and I was pretty sure I'd have to break the rules. Again. But I wasn't prepared for just how hard it was going to be to find even one X to feature.

At first I thought X could be for Uncanny X-Men, another Australian band from the 1980s, but I don't actually have any of their music. In fact when I looked through a list of their songs, I couldn't remember even hearing any of them! So that was a bit of a dead-end.

I couldn't think of any other potential names for the X category so I had a quick search in the iTunes store. Lo and behold, there's actually an artist who goes by the name of X. But again, I didn't know or even like any of his/her/their offerings. Another dead-end. Time to give up on that tack and think laterally.

So here's where I landed. If I was writing a romantic card to my husband, with lots of kisses at the bottom............ you know, xxxxxxx............. or planning a romantic evening.......... okay, I think you get the picture. For this post I'm including a few of my favourite romantic songs, songs that I would sing to him. If I could sing........

Here they are (not an X in sight).

"Dancing in the Dark" - Diana Krall

"Feels Like Home" - Edwina Hayes

"Every Night" - Phoebe Snow

"Answer" - Sarah McLachlan

I know, I know, it was a pretty long bow to draw, but hey, we're getting to the end of the alphabet and I think I've done okay with this challenge. But clearly we need a few more X bands out there!!

  1. Oh you are clever Sue! What a way to get around X in the challenge xxx
Sue from Sizzling Towards 60 & Beyond

    1. Haha Sue, yes it was always going to be the most challenging letter!!

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this post. Please feel free to leave a comment!
